WASHINGTON — Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear are scheduled to appear together Sept. 22 at George Washington University for a discussion of Beshear’s new book, Go and Do Likewise: How We Heal a Broken Country. Tickets are listed at about $53.
The Canton Cat initially assumed $53 included dinner.
It does not.
Apparently you are paying fifty-three American dollars to watch two Democratic governors sit in comfortable chairs and say things like:
“That’s such an important point, Governor.”
For an hour.
Beshear’s book centers on faith, compassion, healing political division, and the Golden Rule, while Moore is scheduled to join him in conversation at GW’s Betts Theatre.
In other words:
TED Talk, but both TEDs might eventually run for president.

The Canton Cat checked GW’s tuition while recovering from the ticket price and discovered undergraduate tuition is $72,000 for 2026–27, with estimated total annual attendance costs reaching roughly $95,155 for new students living on campus. Continuing students can approach $98,165.

So really, $53 is practically a campus bargain.
At GW, that might qualify as:
financial aid.
Attendees can reportedly expect a thoughtful discussion about healing America’s divisions, compassion and shared values.
Presumably followed by everyone returning to X and calling each other fascists before reaching the Metro.
One imaginary event organizer explained:
“For just $53, you can hear two politicians explain how ordinary Americans should reconnect with one another.”
The Canton Cat scratched himself.
“Can I reconnect with my $53 instead?”
Sources say the deluxe political-conversation experience will feature advanced techniques including:
Nodding thoughtfully.
Leaning forward while listening.
Saying ‘Look…’ before answering.
Mentioning working families.
And maintaining presidential-profile posture at all times.

There is no confirmation that attendees will receive commemorative binoculars for spotting 2028 ambition from the back row.
At press time, the Canton Cat decided to save the money and achieve bipartisan healing the old-fashioned way:
screaming at another stray over half a chicken wing behind a Royal Farms.
