Fitzgerald Mofor Announces Campaign Has Momentum, Immediately Breaks Into “Puttin’ on the Fitz”

By Martin O’Meowey | The Canton Cat

MARYLAND — Republican candidate Fitzgerald Mofor says his campaign is building major momentum heading into November, and judging by the video, the man has apparently decided the best path to victory is showmanship with a microphone.

Forget yard signs.

Forget boring policy papers.

Forget standing behind a folding table at a VFW hall pretending everyone is thrilled to be there.

Mofor is puttin’ on the Fitz.

The Canton Cat reviewed the event video and immediately heard music.

If you’re red and you don’t know where to go to,
Why don’t you go where Mofor sits?
Puttin’ on the Fitz.

There he is.

Big flag.

Big banner.

Big smile.

Microphone in hand.

Working the room like the Republican Party accidentally booked a lounge singer who also has a GOTV operation.

His campaign is now selling merchandise, pushing fundraiser tickets, organizing letter-writing events, and recruiting volunteers to join the show.

Translation:

The political jazz hands have begun.

Supporters say Mofor is energizing the community.

Critics say he’s campaigning.

The Canton Cat says both can be true if you’re willing to commit to the bit.

Insiders expect future campaign events to feature:

Fitz at the Ritz

Fitz After Dark

Fitz and the Furious: GOTV Drift

and

An Evening With Fitzgerald Mofor, Featuring Several Extremely Enthusiastic American Flags

Political consultants usually tell candidates to be relatable, disciplined, and authentic.

Mofor appears to have chosen:

“Entertain them until they accidentally volunteer.”

Honestly?

Respect.

The Canton Cat has seen enough dead-eyed campaign events where 14 people eat stale cookies under fluorescent lights while somebody explains property-tax assessments.

At least this guy looks like he knows there’s supposed to be an audience.

At press time, the Mofor campaign was reportedly still gaining momentum, while the Canton Cat was demanding somebody book a piano and finish the song:

Dressed up like a million-dollar trooper,
Trying hard to look like Gary Cooper—
Super duper—
Puttin’ on the Fitz.
